Some moments in time you will never forget but you don’t think about these times while people are still present in your life. Once the seasons change, they flood back into your thoughts. They play like the little jingle that gets stuck in your head every morning. You try to remember all the voices, sounds and smells of that place you can’t seem to forget.
I make, to remember the place, space, and time. I also think of the stability one finds in these moments. How they affect my current state of being. I also want to express the loss of the past with the lack of physicality and voids created throughout the work. That feeling of closeness in the making brings a new memory of the old. Something to hold onto when one longs for the person that’s no longer present.
